
The Cooperative Rural Bank of Bulacan (CRBB) was organized in May 1975 by 135 Samahang Nayon and primary cooperatives of Bulacan with the objective of carrying out and engaging in the business of extending credit to all types of cooperatives and their members.
In November 1977, its Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws were registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) which gave the bank a legal personality. On February 10, 1978, CRBB was granted the license to operate as a rural bank by then Central Bank of thePhilippines(now Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas) and was simultaneously granted the Authority to Accept Savings and Time Deposits. CRBB was inaugurated on February 14, 1978.
Between 1978 and 1995, CRBB operated on a very small scale with only its Head Office in Plaridel lending mainly to its members. Its clients base at that point were concentrated few, with very limited types of services.
